Recommended software, beloved gadgets, and other things I endorse.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M1 Pro, 16GB RAM (2021)

My daily driver and I have no regrets with this purchase. More than capable for anything I do and although it's an ARM chip, I can easily build container images with amd64.

  • Logitech MX Keys

The best keyboard all around. I can easily connect to up to 3 devices at once and toggle through them. Can't recommend this enough.

  • Logitech MX Anywhere 3S Mouse

Similar to the MX Keys, but for a mouse. You can configure buttons easily to map to anything you can possibly image.

Development Tools

  • Visual Studio Code

My go-to IDE for coding. Soo many extensions that exist to make life easier and generally light weight compared to other options.

  • Sublime Text 4

Hands down, Sublime Text takes the crown as the absolute best text editor ever created.

  • iTerm2

I use the Solarized Dark theme coupled with Oh My ZSH for the best terminal experience out there.

Language

  • Rosetta Stone

Started learning Spanish and this application is a perfect tool for that. The way it subtly brings back prior words and phrases to engrain them into you is subtle but effective.

Productivity

  • Notion

I don't think I can live without it. I switched from Microsoft OneNote to Notion and never looked back. It stores all of my notes, docs, project specs, etc.

  • Rectangle

I don't understand why MacOS hasn't already integrated the "snapping" of applications together that Windows has, but this free app does it all seamlessly.
